PA scene and Krutch

Richie from Krutch gives the inside on the PA scene and his band Krutch.

Let me start off with some new PAHC releases. First hot the the press is a 3 -way split CD featuring Dysphoria Hoods and 1 more. Dysphoria is a PAHC band that has been around for quit some time, they have a super hard metal edge to them. This split is their finest material to date. They also have alot of other releases, check out their site for more info. on them.

Now if you are into a more traditional hadcore sound, Strength For A Reason is the band for you. These guys have a Sheer Terror Hatebreed vibe going on, more on the positive tip lyrically. Besides the demo and a 3-way split 7 inch on Back Ta Basics Rec. they have out 4 brand new songs on a CD release from THORNZ Rec. also on this CD is Eastcide, Down My Throat, and Full Court Press. These guys are all heart.

Now if you like straight up brutal hardcore, let me tell you about No Retreat, these fellas are from western Pa. in the Steel City of Pittsburgh. They are a cross of Neglect and Hatebreed, you can’t beat that. They just released a full length CD on the Piottssburgh label Da-Core rec. and have a split out with their newest stuff on THORNZ, the split features 5 brand new trax from No Retreat and Krutch.

From the city of Reading Pennsylvania is MUSHMOUTH, they have a full length CD on Triple Crown Rec. called Out To Win, this release has definitly make a name for them, but beleive me, they just finished recording a new full length for Triple Crown called Lift The Curse, this release is SICK. You gotta love this, insane stuff. Also out by Mushmouth are a few demos, a split 7 with Livin Proof (r.i.p.) from Pa. on BTB Rec. and a split 7 with Skarhead on Triple Crown.

Now I’ll tell ya some stuff about Krutch. We have been around for a long time, probably too long, Our newest release is an 18 song full length CD called I’ll See You In Hell, this is on BTB Rec. Also very new is the KRUTCH/NO RETREAT split 7 on Thornz Rec. There is a CD made up of alot of our older material, like our split 7’s with Surrounded and Feeble, some tracks from Now The tables Turn, a few covers, and a rare track from our first demo in 1989. This release is called Our Thing The Mafia Years 89/99, it’s on Cartel Rec. from Finland. On the way is a limited cassette on On Point Rex from Bulgaria called Over The Years. Also look out for some splits with bands like Daredevil from the Netherlands, and Knuckledust from the UK. OK, well there are so many bands in the PAHC scene, that I didn’t even give you a fraction of the information I could have.
