xKick To Tha Headx’s 2006 demo is tough guy, straight edge hardcore from Springfield, Illinois with an anti-racist attitude as evidenced by their live show at the Labyrinth in Detroit a couple of months ago.

I’m not sure what the songs are actually about, since no lyrics came with the demo; their meaning can be determined through the song titles, “Steadfast,” “In My Corner,” and “Everyday Battle.” Judging by the cover art – some dude getting kicked to the head (coincidence?) – the lyrics probably have to do with life in general, and in particular, the struggle to maintain edge in society.

Nothing super original here, but good solid, ass kicking hardcore nonetheless, good for those days when you feel like standing for something. Look out for their new full length, soon to be released on Turkey Vulture records.
