 This must be the first hardcore I've reviewed, or even heard from Turkey. Now this release is from 2006, and I'm not sure if I misplaced it or they sent it recently, so apologies if this review is overdue! But their MySpace is active so they are still at it.
They've a mad mix going on, in your face hardcore, metal, some
extreme metal bits, and bits of hardcore with a groove. The first
thing that springs to mind would be Terror on the hardcore end, and
Hatebreed on the more metallic end, with the addition of a full metal
band (sorry don't actually know any names to compare!). And nice fast
songs too, all (bar one) under the 3 minute mark, making it perfect in
my book.
Mehmet's vocals could give anyone a run for their money, and stand for
the most hardcore part of the CD, the music may vary but the vocals
stay hardcore, and I would love to see the band live... I wonder to
Ryanair fly from Ankara, get them over here for a show? :)
I generally view albums personally on whether the go on my mp3 player
or not, you might get a decent review but still not get on there, Self
Torture will. If this CD is anything to go by, then Turkey/Ankara seem
to have a pretty decent going.
