Since the Flood are one of Metal Blades newest siginings (Metal Blade had re-released their debut "Valor and Vengeance" with their first label Ironclad, an album I must check out if its anythign like "No Compromise")
Since the Flood play metallic as the title says no compromise hardcore. The first bands that spring to mind when they
kick off are Hatebreed - the big riffs and even bigger breakdowns, and Earth Crisis - the intensity of (earlyish) Earth
Crisis, but its Chuck's vocals that really remind me Karl ExC - always a good comparison I think - fast, heavy, intense.
They recorded it with, Jim Siegal (Blood for Blood, Cave In, and the Dropkick Murphys) and you can certainly hear the
results, slick heavy hardcore!
Its been a while since we've got this style of hardcore - probably my fav style, up there with old school, for me anyway.
And they couldnt' have picked a better title for this album, there is absolutely No fucking Compromise on this album,
just pure intense hardcore. This is one that should appeal to both hardcore and metal fans.
Its very rare that I will listen to a CD from start to finish while still doing the review but this CD is just the kind of thing I mostly listen to so it was a very pleasent start to todays reviews! The boys are currrently out on the road in the US with Madball and Death Before Dishonour (both of whom they're toured with before so those should be some great shows), they will be coming over to Europe later in
the year...... heres hoping they stop off in Ireland for date or two.....
