Who makes up TWF, who does what, and how did you get started?
TWF is Damon-drums, Bruce-vocals, Clint-guitar, and Spidey-bass. Damon and I started the band last summer and we immediately recorded our 1st MCD, which led to our deal with RPP Records.

You are not together very long-how are things going?
Things are going great. We have been a band for less than 1 year and we have 2 CDs out, plus we're touring Europe later this year. It has been a LOT of hard work and money to make things happen, but I am very happy with the way everything is working out.

What was your first time playing like?
The first TWF show was in our hometown (Baltimore) playing in front of our close friends and playing with bands who are great friends, also. It was very cool!

Have you toured much-what was the crowds' reaction like?
We haven't toured as much as I would like, but the next 6-8 months will include a LOT of shows . The crowd response has been really good, considering we are a new band.

Where does TWF fit in with Next Step Up- side project?
No, TWF is not a side project. I love playing in both bands, and eventually (once NSU gets our shit back together) I should be touring a lot between the 2 bands, which is what I love to do. So I'm happy being in both TWF & NSU!

Is there a message/philosophy with TWF?
Not really. We just try to be honest and real.

Who are your biggest influences both musically and personally?
Biggest musical influences are early Metallica ( the first 3 albums), early Iron Maiden (pre-1986), Destruction, Kreator, the first 2 Megadeth albums, DIO , Slayer, Dark Angel and all other old-school metal. I know we are a hardcore band, but I have never really been influenced by other hardcore bands, except the Crumbuckers. Personally, my biggest influence is my God.

If you were to set up a tour who would you want on it?
I would personally like to tour with Sick Of It All, because they are my favorite hardcore band, ever. Plus, they seem to be cool people and they REALLY seem to have their business shit together, so you could learn a lot from touring with a band like that. If you're talking about big rock acts, I'd like to tour with Rage Against The Machine, but if they burned an American flag around me I'd be forced to beat them senseless!.

For a hardcore band your lyrics are very unusual- where does your inspiration come from?
My lyrics come straight out of real life experiences I have gone through. My inspiration is the insane, fucked-up world I have created for myself and live in every day.

What does it mean to you to be in the band?
This band is my life. If everyone else quit TWF tomorrow, I would replace them and the band would continue. I'm not trying to be an asshole, but that's the way it is. I plan on doing this band for a long time to come and no one will hold me back....I could not live unless I was making music!!!!.

What were the most recent topics that touched you as a band and personally?
I write about many things in life: the deaths of people close to me, fucked-up relationships, drug addiction, etc...I basically just write about things that affect me as a human being...

What are your upcoming plans?
We are supposed to tour Europe from late November-mid December. After that, we will hopefully be recording a new CD, and touring more than ever. We will probably be on the road at least 4 months over the next year or so, because that is what we need to do to properly support our releases....I also own a record label (Bethany) that puts out several CDs per year, PLUS we are finally working on the new Next Step Up album!!!.

Any last words?
First, thanks so much for the interview, I really appreciate the support!. Hello and thank you to Alain RPP and all my other friends out there.
