Born at the end of the year 1999 as a project gathering members of Stuck-Up and Instigate, Do Or Die is first of all a united family pushed forward by the rage and the desire to make itself heard. This family aka Bella Famiglia is composed of Nico and Luigi on the guitars, Jon on drums, Yvan at the bass, ad Chris and Alain at the microphone. Their powerfull and agressive hardcore has many and varied influences and offers the particularity to line two singers up within a single band. Despite its young age, Do Or Die is already well experienced and is made for live performances. The band is touring intensively, supporting bands such as Merauder, Length of time, Deviate or Madball. Born from pain, are an intense hardcore/metalcore band from Holland. They have a few CDs out on Gangstyle Records "Immortality", "Reclaiming The Crown", a split with Redline, and numerous compilations. "Sands of Time", again out on the excellent Gangstyle Records, is out now (May) and they have an upcoming tour with Madball. Who started GSR, when and why? Who's involved today? I started Gangstyle back in 2000. I'm Theo, owner of the Noizz Music Company and 38 years old. Gangstyle is a division of the Noizz Music Company. The Noizz Music Company is a company which specializes in Hardcore music and has 3 divisions in total which are; Scum agency, the booking and festival departement which does 3 festivals a year, 2 x European Hardcore Party (1 in March and 1 in November) and a 2 day Summerfestival (June), On Parole Mailorder service and of course Gangstyle Records. I started the label 'cause I found some really good bands who weren't able to get a label to put their stuff out. Nowadays we are working with 3 people, being myself, Karl Fieldhouse (guitars in Born from Pain) and a trainee. David: Can you name all the King Ly Chee members and what instruments they play? Riz: My name is Riz and I’m a 26-year-old Pakistani who has resided in the lovely bustling metropolis of Hong Kong my entire life (except for 4 and a half years spent at a University in USA) and I sing and play guitar in the band. Alex is a 22-year-old Chinese who has never lived anywhere except for Hong Kong and sings and plays bass. Andy is Alex’s 24-year-older brother who plays guitar and joined us August of 2001 after he graduated from University in USA and returned home to where his heart is. Kevin is a 26-year-old Chinese/Australian who plays the drums and moved back to Hong Kong almost 5 years ago from Australia where he grew up and where his family still lives. First of all introduce the band, who does what, how you got together... Kombat is Pete on vocals, Kris on drums, Tim on guitar, Koen on Guitar and me (Werner) on bass. It all started when Pete and I came back from a show in 1998. In the car we were talking about the whole drop out trend in Belgium at that time. People started to listen to the harder style of hardcore like all out war, bulldoze etc. And they were selling out on straight edge because it wasn’t cool anymore in their eyes. Then Pete and I decided we wanted to do a straight edge band that plays that kind of mosh. So we started looking for other people who wanted to help us with this. Kris and Jente joined the band. Hey guys, do you want to start the interview by introducing the band and its members, a little bit of history, previous bands? What's up Shay, My name is Moody, I sing and play guitar. Eric plays Bass, and Shawn plays with himself(and occasionally the drums.) We've been together for about 3 years. We have played all over the US. you got beer and gas money, we are there! Haven't had a chance to dirty the UK yet, but i'm sure we will within the next year. We are also planning a little tour to take us across Ireland with the band petronella(petronellamusic.com We all had bands growing up, none worth mentioning though. I actually had a band call "Bad Luck Streak" that was scheduled to come overseas for a small tour, but i ended up quiting the band before we left. I was drumming for BLS and really wanted to start up my own band singing and playing guitar, so that's when the Dead 50's formed. Ever since then it has been really rediculous haha.
